Voilá!, the server boots! Started up, installed the TOOLS, restarted, all nice and good.īTW, I'm running ESXi4.0 Update1, just in case. Since the server was IDE, the SCSI was not installed and the VirtualDisk were attached as IDE devices.Īfter this, I've CLONED the IDE to the SCSI (With ACRONIS, since Ghost32 over BartPE was not detecting the SCSI,I don't know why and I did not care much either about it), Then Deleted the IDE converted one and Started the server only with the newly created SCSI. While i was creating it, I choose SCSI (buslogic). I've created a NEW Virtual Disk the same size of the existent C drive. On Windows, if I want to save the virtual machine disk in C:\Users\Thomas.VirtualBox\usb.vmdk that links to my USB in in Disk 1 (according to the previous Disk Management), I type the following line: VBoxManage internalcommands createrawvmdk -filename C:\Users\Thomas\usb.vmdk -rawdisk \\. I had now 2 VMDKs from both partitions, I got rid of the 2nd coz was useless (D drive had install files, SPs, hotfixes, etc). I've tried EVERTHING i read here and there and none of the possible solutions worked, so I tried a good old one workaroud. Changing VMDK virtual disk geometry, etc, etc, etc.įinally I was able to boot and see the Happy White Windows 2000 loading screen and then : "Inaccessible boot device" blue scren. Googled for it a lot, and implemented every solution I was able to find. VMWare converter recognoiced it as 2 drives.Īfter the successful convertion, the server gave me the *"A disk read error occurred press ctrl alt delete to I P2V'ed a Win2K Sp4 which originally had 1 IDE drive with 2 partitions. I had the same Issue which if you google it, there are PLENTY of possible solutions.
